This Christmas will be a bit different for all of us.  Still, there is no reason to get pessimistic and moody!  While our holidays and New Year’s Eve party will not be like those of previous years, don’t hesitate to pamper yourself a bit more these days and feel even more beautiful and glamorous!

Finish your preparation with wonderful makeup that will make you feel special and add a different colour to these festive days.

For the perfect festive makeup that will help you stand out from the crowd, you will have to choose the right products.  First, in order to choose the right products, picture your makeup that day. Look for inspiring images, experiment with several products before the big day and do not hesitate to add your own orders, to ensure a much more special result.

In Parapharmacie you will find a great range of famed brands that guarantee the perfect finish to your makeup, impressive glow and, of course, the smoother possible skincare!  Just a few clicks in the specialised makeup section of our e-shop is all you need, along with some clever tips for their proper application!

The following tips come from professional makeup artists and will help you get the perfect result in a flash!

• Makeup Base

The proper foundation is the... very foundation of makeup.  Hence, after spreading carefully the primer, make sure to select a  foundation that highlights the tones of your skin.  Since this is a festive makeup, choose a darker tone than the one you usually use, especially if we are talking about a night makeup. Also, make sure that the foundation does not have a matte finish. The brighter shades will bring out the darker or subtler parts of your face, like the area beneath the eyes or the cheekbones, even if you don’t highlight them with any other way.

• Intense eyes

They are without a doubt the mirror of the soul, and when they are properly highlighted, they are mesmerising. Naturally, the luxuriant Christmas ambience justifies a few exaggerations, but it would be better to avoid combining colours of different palettes.  Start with a silver eye pencil and follow up with shades of similar tones. A classic and equally good idea are smokey eyes, faded out at the edges with a brush. Opt for lighter shades for the upper part of the eyelashes, giving them more intensity and depth.  Beneath the eyebrows and for the lower eyelashes, you can use glitter eyeshadows, but in tones similar to those of the rest of the eye. The eyeliner should not outshine the glitter, while the cat-eye look is always in fashion, ending evenly at the edges and adding a vamp accent to your look.

• Impressive Eyelashes

Mascara is the number one ally for a deep and impressive outcome.  If you wish to stand out this year, venture a colour edition, gold or silver for example, and if you are a fan of false eyelashes, make sure that their application brings out a smooth, stylish result.  If you dislike exaggerations, you can just try a few lashes at the edge of your natural eyelashes.  Don’t forget, though, to apply several layers of mascara, to ensure they have exactly the same colour as the natural hair.

• Fiery lips

The red colour is directly linked with Christmas and velvet lips with passion and the intense emotions of the holiday season. A red lipstick or a lip balm in similar shades, like ruby red or even chocolate, surely makes an impression.  Nevertheless, its duration is always troubling.  While impressive, lip glosses and glitter lipsticks do not last long, so opt for matte tones if you think you won’t be able to freshen it up frequently.  Do it properly then, using first a red lips pencil, with which you can shape both the outline and the filling across the lips. Next, put lightly some powder on your lips and then try the fieriest red shade you have!  If you have trouble with the outlining, better spread it with a small brush, after dividing your lips into segments. This way the lipstick will last longer, both on your lips and on your guests’ memories.

• Unparalleled glow

For the perfect contouring, you will need a very good concealer, as well as a liquid or stick highlighter. Pick the areas of your face that you want to highlight or add depth to, first by covering any possible imperfections with a concealer, in a tone lighter than your skin.

Even if social events this year are a bit limited, surely you want your Christmas photos to do you justice.  So, learn all about the latest trends from Parapharmacie e-shop and do not settle with simple, everyday makeup.

Follow the tips above, and your beautiful glowing face will be your reward for all the effort you made to look lovely on the starriest day of the year!
